In an emergency situation, I had to walk a few miles in uncomfortable shoes. After this occurrence, the bottom of my left foot has been unbearably sore, to the point that I haven't been able to walk on it for about four days. I don't see blisters, cracking, or anything abnormal, but the pain is absolutely tear-inducing. If anyone can give me some help, I'd love you forever for it. I've no health insurance, so any remedies passed along would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I sympathize greatly with you. I'm currently suffering through some foot pain. I can't diagnose, but here's a couple of ideas....if the pain is near or on the heel it could be plantar fasciitis. You can find conservative help/instructions for care on some podiatry websites, but many times you end up at the doctor's anyway. If it's in the forefoot near the toes it could be a Morton's neuroma. Staying off the spot and giving it rest might help, but again, the doctor may be necessary. Also something to consider is a stress fracture, or a March fracture, named after soldiers that developed these fractures after long marches. An x-ray generally won't show anything until calcium has had a chance to form, approximately 2 weeks after the injury. You might be able to treat it on your own with rest and wrapping it, and definitely not putting anymore pressure on it, but it might need a cast, in which case a trip to the podiatrist is indicated.

Just something for you to think about. When your feet hurt, you are just plain miserable. Good luck!
