Hello, I'm new to these boards and relatively new to acid reflux so please bear with me. I started having problems a few months ago, my doctor said to try Prilosec. It didn't do a lot of good, so I got on the internet and found some dietary information. I cut back on alcohol, lowered my fat intake, cut out tomatoes, OJ, etc. No more problems until I started back-sliding on my diet, and the symptoms came back. Here's my question.
I have had two of these attacks while at the gym, both about 45 minutes into my workout. My workouts are fairly strenuous. In both cases, I felt the attack coming on, pain in the back of my throat, shortness of breath, very uncomfortable. In both cases I became very dizzy. I had to stop my workout and go home.
This last time (yesterday) I thought to check my blood pressure when I got home. It was substantially lower than usual, around a 30 point difference, which would explain the dizziness. Why would the acid reflux cause this, or is there something else going on? Thanks.
