View Full Version : Could move be causing hair loss?

I have just recently moved to Denver CO from Boston, Ma. I noticed my hair falling out right away (pretty much) it was NOT this bad in MA. I'm wondering if it could possibly be stress from moving but that was over a month ago now. The other thought is that it is a LOT dryer up here, and the altitude makes everything soooo dry and static crazy.

I know I'm losing the more than 100-150 strands per day. I can't brush my hair without filling up the bathroom sink with it, there are strands all over my pillow, all over the bed sheets and comforter, the floor, my brush gets cleaned out a few times a day, etc. I haven't noticed my hair thinning and im hoping I dont because I already have really thin hair.

Its not a diet change, could the "mile high" city be doing it? could the dryness be a factor? I know stress could be part of it...
i changed my shampoo to a fortifying shampoo although I dont think my hair is breaking its falling out... :( :( :(
could this just be like a "phase" that will go away? I had my thyroid levels checked in September (because of an unrelated problem) and the only meds im on is yasmin that i've been on for years...

any suggestions / help??

oh and I'm only 22 :(

I doubt its the move..
Stress can definitely be a reason, but the fact your losing alot of hair.
Are you taking any meds?
I know accutaine and some anti depressants can cause hair loss.
Have you seen a dermatologist?
