I have had ringing in both ears for two years now. Does anybody know anything that would help besides masking it with noise. Doc says there is no cure.

My dad has ringing in his ears due to years of working in the machine shop; he says that is why he sleeps with the TV on, because it kind of cancels out the ringing and he doesn't even notice it as long as there is background noise. As far as I know there is no known cure. But, make sure that your doctor is aware of all the medicines, herbs, and supplements you take, because certain things cause tinnitus, like aspirin, if taken at too high dose. I would imagine that there are other things that could cause this as well.

Try ALL these
* Ginkgo biloba, 40 mg thrice daily
* Folic acid 400 mcg
* vitamin B12 (sublingial) 1,000 mcg daily
* Vitamin B6, 50 mg 3 times daily
* Copper / Zinc, 2 mg copper and 30 mg zinc daily --(no more than!)
* Magnesium, 400 mg two times daily, taken with meal. If diarrhea develops, reduce the dose.
