Hello, what a frustrating day. Called my doc a few days ago to request tylenol with codeine to help me get through the pain at night. Been taking too much Advil and it's upsetting my stomach. Ya know when you're busy during the day, you are busy enough to ignore it. Well, the receptionist asked when I had my surgery and when I told her 5/20 she said, "and you're still having pain?" ARGGGHH, she must have never experienced foot surgery. And, excuse me, did I miss something or did the doc tell me a magical date when I wouldn't be sore anymore? (no she didn'). At that time they told me to take 25 mg of Benadryl at night. WOW! Just knock me out with that and don't worry about the pain. How about a shot of whiskey? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif (i don't drink). Called them today and finally got them to call in a prescription. The receptionist said the doc doesn't want me to get dependent on it. I told her, "neither do I!"

Anyone out there have experience with how long the foot will be sore? Had a bunion removed and a nerve tumor.

Hi
I had surgery on my right foot on may 9 because i was having problems with my heel and my tendon anyways after surgery they recommended percocet's so i took them then when i needed another prescription the receptionist told me well we cant give you percocets cause we dont want you to get used to them my foot still hurts and now they gave me naproxen but these dont work at all i have to take like 2 for my pain to get better. Im glad they finally gave you the ones you asked for cause my doctor she thinks she knows what that pain in my foot feels like.

I'm a little surprised you still need pain medication? When is your next appointment? I had major bunion surgery on 5/8/03 and I took the pain medication for less than a week and then Aleve. I think you might need to check in with your doc if you still need that kind of pain medication. Good luck.

In addition to the bunion removal, the nerve tumor removal has caused pain, tenderness, and swelling. Needless to say the healing and pain process is slightly more than if I just had the bunion removed. Now the pain does not keep me up at night. Only had to use a few of those meds anyway - typically after a day of walking too much and not stretching enough. Still have numbness and go to see my doc on 8/21. She wanted to see me after physical therapy was complete. Don't know where I would be without pt. It feels like I always have something between my toes. Do you experience this? Also, my big toe does not touch my second toe like my other foot. I've heard it probably never will.
