I have been looking for a natural way to help with my asthma. Anyone have any ideas. There is things out there like respitrol but i worry that things like that will hurt me more than help me. Anyone think of anything else that might help?

You can try to identify and avoid things that trigger your asthma. However, I have not heard of any natural remedies that are proven to work. There are amazing claims made, true, but those claims are usually made by people who sell the stuff - have a financial interest in it. Or - some people are strongly impacted by the placebo effect.
Some major, well reputed medical clinics and university medical centers are now doing research about the effectiveness of natural medicine treatments. The Mayo Clinic might be a place to start.
If you go the natural route - be careful. Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that it will be safe or effective. At the same time, there are many well known, long prescribed medications that are known to be safe, effective, and have few if any side effects. I'm thinking of albuterol (a rescue medication) and flovent (a long acting preventative).

I have tried respitrol and found that it worked very well for me. I have been taking for about 8 weeks and have found that i can breath alot better. I would recommend that you try it.

I have tried respitrol. It didn't work for me at first but I continue to take it since they told me I had 90 days to try it. I took it and after about 8 weeks it starting working very well. I can breathe better and I don't need to use my inhaler nearly as much.

I have tried respitrol. I thought that it wasn't working until I had to move and realized that I moved furniture and dusty stuff all day and never needed my emergency inhaler at all. I guess you don't realize how well something is working until you remember why you were taking it in the first place.

I wonder does respitrol work for severe asthma or is just for minor to mild cases. I have severe asthma, that makes it hard to work and function some days. Has anyone with severe asthma ever taken respitrol and had it help them?

I had severe asthma and I took respitrol and it worked for me. IT took a little longer that I thought it would but I think it was because of the severity of my asthma. I do feel a lot better and can breath so much better. I have been taking it for three months now and am feeling good. I guess it might depend on the person but I don't know that for sure.

Thank you all for your advice and I have been researching many things. I ordered the respitrol and I have been keeping my home allergen free for the most part. Which can be hard sometimes. I haven't received my respitrol yet but I should get it after Christmas. I will let you know how it works out. Thanks and God Bless.

You will be amazed at how well you feel. I have been taking respitrol now for about 4 months and I feel great. I have been doing things that I haven't been able to do in years. Good Luck.

I had never heard of respitrol until I found this board. Does it work for children also. My daughter is 10 years old and has asthma. She has it pretty severe and it causes her to miss school alot. Does anyone know if it would work for children?
