i have a normal count other than low lymphocytes. the normal is apparently between 1.5 and 3.5, mine was first 1.41, which was ok just a little short apparently. then it dropped to 0.67 and now its dropped to 0.59. ive been reffered to a hemotologist to look at but im worried about what happens and why i might be there?? my GP said it was reassuring my white blood count was normal because then blood cancer is ruled out.

anyone else have an knowledge or experince this?? my main problems are im very lethargic, i get the odd muscle tiredness, weakness and pains like ive stretched or pulled muscles, i used to do a lot of exercise but find it almost impossible these days, i walk an awful lot but am tired soon afterwards, but sometimes im not.i also go through phases of nausea waves, upset stomach after eating and have had phases of bowel problems. my GP said she thought i looked thinner but i dont think i do it must have just been the lighting. it might be important to note ive had mental health problems also that can affect this. now were confused as to if theyre connceted or just adding to a poroblem that might be there?? any ideas?? i am a virgin so AID's isnt likely. however i was sexually abused as a child but i never had sexual intercourse forced on me-just fondling and exposing.

im a bit worried if this just keeps dropping what happens because im a busy person and like to be able to just keep going??

please help, any info would be really appreciated-even reasurance.

Pucca,
I had a low white blood cell count years ago. It actually went down to 0. They think it's because I had a bad case of Epstein Barr Virus, or mono. It took a long time for it to return to normal. Is it possible you've been sick with something? It doesn't have to be mono to throw your immune system into a tizzy. Chances are you'll bounce back. Some people just have low WBC counts. It runs in our family.

Has your dr checked your vitamin levels? The common culprits for feeling bad are low B12 and low D. Some medicines deplete your B12 stores, and once depleted, you need supplements to feel better.

Usually just a low WBC count doesn't affect your energy levels - rather it's the thing that's causing your WBC to be low that is affecting how you feel. If you have a bug, in other words - that's what's making you feel bad. Or low vitamins.

People can fight off viruses and infections even with very low counts. If you get a fever, though, make sure to let your dr know.

Take care,
Jill

hi thanks for getting back. im not really a very sick person often. my mums a nurse so were well immuned. i did get a cold that was it.

ive bene tested for anemia but im normal. and my white blood cell count is ok thats why she said its reasuring her that its not blood cancer. its just the lymphocytes just keep lowering. i am very tired a lot and achy, i hope its just an underlying infection playing about and itll go away. i have to go to the haemotologist-what happens there??
