View Full Version : Wisdom tooth extraction site pain

I had all four wisdom teeth extracted in June of 06. Since the gum healed, I have always had pain in the two bottom areas whenever I eat. Whenever I eat, if food touches it hurts. This happens 90% of the time. Why has the gum been hurting even over a year post op?

There could be a possibility that a sliver of tooth was left inside or if they used stitches there maybe one left behind.

I have this problem too- although not ALL the time. I had mine (all 4) taken out June of this year. If I eat any kind of cracker or crust bread or have to chew really hard-the site hurt!

Similar issue but not the same here. It's been 7 days since the extraction and at times, usually when I wake up, it still hurts as much as day one. I've been taking percocet for it. I don't understand why it still hurts this much. But during the day it usually doesn't hurt much and it seems I can eat almost anything, although I'm still avoiding that bag of doritos.
Also, I did have it checked to make sure it was healing right and they said it was.
