View Full Version : 8 months of dizziness

I've been diagnosed with silent migraines. I'm not sure that's what it is. For the past 8 monhts I've been having dizzy spells that have increased in intensity as time has gone by. I don't have high or low blood pressure. No headaches, no other symptoms other than dizziness. I've also been having memory loss, confusion, forgetting peoples names, etc. I've been to the doctor, they did a whole bunch of tests, including an MRI that came back normal. The past few days I've been getting headaches, including a migraine that lasted 2 days. So it ended up being a migraine in the end, but I'm not sure it was for the past 8 monhts. Do silent migraines act like that? The only pain I've had for the past 8 months has been neck pain, but I've had no headaches, nor any other of the symptoms usually associated with migraines. The doctor put me on a drug called Gabapentin (this is the generic; I think the real name is Nerontin or something like that). If anyone knows anything, please help. Thank you.

I had the same exact symptoms/diagnosis as you and my Dr. prescribed Topamax (100 mg., twice daily). It's typically an anti-seizure medication, but has been proven to work great for migraines. It worked for me almost immediately and the dizziness has been gone for about 4 years now (thank God!!)

Good luck!
