what's everyone think about Avelox, an antibiotic of the quinolone family? I've heard allthe hype that its dangerous and is only available bc it can treat anthrax and doctors over prescribe it...
I also heard that it works really well at killing infection
I have had a sinus infection, turning into an ear infection for a month now
the doc put me on this stuff and I was a little scared to take it.
She also said I could drink a few alcoholic drinks while taking it... but it says it can make you drowsy. ????
Pretty scared of this drug...
but taking it because I have nothing left to do against this gook in my head.

-- basically i'm allergic to cephilasporins and then "cillans" do not work for me very well. =( that's why I'm on this stuff.

Avelox really cleared up my sinus/ear infection quickly. However, my muscles hurt so bad when I was taking it, that I called the doctor to switch my medications. The side effects I found online scared me, but then probably every medicine has this many side effects listed.

My muscles felt like they were made of strings and the strings were breaking, that's the only way to describe it...think of a guitar string snapping, that's what it felt like.

Hope you keep doing well!

yeah one side effect is a potential for ruptured tendons i guess. kinda weird. scary. I have a 10 day dosage and I've taken two days so far. right now I have a headache. but I'm not sure if its the antibiotics causing it. my mom didn't have any side effects when she took it so hopefully I'm genetically structured for the same experience! haha
