View Full Version : Bad News about Follow Up Pap Smear

Back in May of this year I received my first abnormal pap smear that suggested LSIL. After a colposcopy and biopsy in June, it confirmed that I had CIN I. This October, I had a follow up pap smear and received my results today. The follow up pap smear still came back as LSIL. I need to have yet another follow up pap smear in February. I'm disappointed that there was no improvement in clearing up this abnormality.

I tried to take vitamins, consume extra fruits and vegetables and get plenty of sleep in order to try to suppress the HPV. I don't smoke and I very seldomly drink alcohol. I've been on birth control pills for almost 5 years and wonder if that maybe be partially contributing to these abnormalities. I'm just wondering where did I go wrong in trying to be proactive about this health problem. Maybe I wasn't proactive enough.

I guess I need to take more vitamins, eat more healthy foods and exercise. I hope I get a normal pap smear in February.

Just wanted to say, I'm so sorry.
Try to keep up your healthier lifestyle, I'm sure your body is thanking you for that. :)

Hey Leah, you've done nothing wrong. Your situation is almost identical to mine, even the months of the year. I was disappointed as well when my follow up at the end of Sept came back CIN I. I go back for another follow up in Jan. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for the cervix to get back to normal. Here's to good results in the new year!

Try to live as close to earth as possible. You can try switching your milk, cheese, butter, pasta and sauce, fruits, vegetable, meats to an organic verison where it isn't treated or made with chemicals and dyes and other food. Limit or cut out processed foods. I have known of people who made a complete lifestyle change and their cancer dissapeared! These stories are suppressed because we are lead to almost always take a drug instead of living in a more natural manner without the chemicals. Also, don't forget about health and beauty products. You can switch to natural or organic verisions too. It is very difficult and I am been switching over the past year. It takes time, and I wish you the best of luck.
