View Full Version : CT Scan Report Good News/Bad News May Be A Cyst

Well, I finally got the findings of my CT scan.

Praise the Lord! The radiologist says my liver and lungs and other organs are normal. However, there appears to be a cyst-like lesion at the suture site where my colon resection operation was done 19 months ago.

I had my last colonoscopy 6 months ago, so this lesion has grown there sometime since May.

Has anyone heard of a cyst in the colon? The oncologist wants me to get a PET scan. The colon doc wants to do a colonoscopy. PET is scheduled for Nov. 26th and my consultation with the colon surgeon is Nov. 13th.

I dread another surgery, but at least if this does not appear to be cancer, I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm just so relieved that my liver and lungs are ok, Thanks Be To God:angel:

Please let me know your thoughts on the cyst question.

Thanks,
Barbara

Hi Barbara, I have not heard about cysts developing at the surgery area but my husband also has something which they think might be either recurrence or effects from the radiotherapy. I know you do not want more surgery but it is comforting to know it is not cancer. Let us know how the appointment goes. As you say, a great relief to know that liver and lungs are clear.

Love,
Alison

Hi Alison,

I remember you said your husband's CEA was up. I sure hope he will be ok and they can find the true source. You mentioned he had radiation, was his original diagnosis rectal cancer?

Yes, I am so thankful that my liver, especially, as well as other organs are clear.

You and your husband are in my prayers.

Thanks Barbara, yes, my husband's cancer was rectal cancer, hence the radiation. He is still to have his CEA levels checked again, but as our son is arriving from the UK for a few days, he wants to wait until the visit is over.

Wishing you well!

Love and prayers,
Alison
