Does anyone else feel nauseous after taking fish oil? I use Carlson liquid fish oil that's lemon flavored. I've also tried fish oil capsules and get nauseous from them too Any suggestions? TIA.

I have tried the best of them that have fruit flavors and are suppose to have the fishy flavor out of them but I still get the nasty after taste and end up with nausea and give them away. I have heard flaxseed oil is just as good. I am trying that next!

Are you going to take the oil or buy it in capsule form? I used to take the capsules that I bought at Trader Joe's and they didn't bother my digestion. Maybe I'll try them again. Good luck and let me know how you do with the flaxseed oil.

Have you tried it on an empty stomach, this way it goes into the digestive track faster and doesn't sit in the gut.

No, I've never thought of that, but I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

I take mine in the evening after dinner. Maybe you can try even later than that.

I have experienced some nausea from Carlson's liquid fish oil also. Try the enteric coated omega 3 fish oil, 1000 mg, Spring Valley brand from Wal-Mart.
I take it after the evening meal with a whole glass of water and have no
problem. These are soft gel capsules. I think the coating makes the difference.

Thanks Osteo. I was looking for enteric coated caps. I'll head over to Walmart and get them. I appreciate the info. Happy Holidays. Sue

Are you allergic to shellfish or any type of fresh water fish? After you try some of the other suggestions you may want to leave the fish oil alone. I know many who are not allergic to honey but bee pollen makes them very ill.

No, I'm not allergic to fish or shellfish. I ordered the enteric coated capsules from *********** and will see if I can tolerate them. If I can't, then I'll just not try taking them anymore. Thanks for your input.

I did take the fish oil capsules and got nausea also. I was taking them with breakfast and had to change to bedtime. Didn't have any problem after that. Hope this helps.

Thanks Storey. I have to take my vitamins & other pills after dinner. There are very few pills that I can take in the am.
