View Full Version : Kidney Stones?

Hi. Last night was one of the most painful nights I've ever had. I was fine all day, but at night, I'm not quite sure when, I started developing an extremely sharp pain in my groin/pelvis/privates area. It lasted for quite a while, certainly over half an hour. I curled up for a while, and after some time, it began to relieve the pain. I then went to the bathroom, and nothing "passed" to my awareness, and it was not a painful urination - perfectly normal. I went back to my room, the pain still present. So I stayed in my curled up position, praying the pain would subside. It eventually did, and I was able to get to sleep. Today, I felt fine.

What could this be? I've never had kidney stones before, but my dad might possibly have kidney problems, though I'm not sure. Is that what it could be? Could it be something stupid, like food poisoning? What should I do? If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. I don't think I can take another night like that.

P.S. I'm only 16, if that changes anything.

I am not convinced it was a kidney stone, though it might be. The fetal position relief may have meant it was a gas pocket. See if it happens again. Were you sweating at all?
