Hiya, after many years of pain, a few months ago my dad was diagnosed with having fibromyalgia. My mum has just confided in me that my dad now has started getting numbness in his penis, and despite researching the internet, can only find that sufferers seem to get numbness in fingers and feet. My dad is highly embarrassed with this problem and wont go to the doctors (its a man thing) but it seems to be getting worse and wondered if anyone else had heard of this, or knows if its connected to the fibromyalgia. Thanks

Hi There, I'm not sure if it is Fibro or not, but i was thinking when a person has a spinal issue the big thing is loss of bladder so maybe it is possiable it would affect that as well. As much as he hates it (my hubby is the same way) it could be a sign of something more. Try and see if you mom can talk him into seeing a doc about it. Good luck!!

Hello, this will involve a call to the USA, but have your Mum call (310) 577-7510 and ask for Claudia Marek at Dr. R. Paul St. Amand's office in Marina del Rey, CA. Dr. St. Amand has treated over 10,000 FM patients over the past 40 years. In fact, he has FM himself and is 80 years old so as a male I am sure he will know. Claudia is his nurse, and co-author of his book. There is a 50% chance she will be the person who answers the phone. She will advise you if it is a common male symptom and can also possibly recommend a doctor in the UK. There are 2 FM doctors in Wales, not sure if you are located in proximity. The second doctor will do consultation questions by phone but requests patients write first and provide their phone number for him to call at his convenience.

Hi, thanks for the details of the doc in america, i have passed this to my mum who says she will definately be getting in touch. Now, while i've been researching fibromyalgia, i have come across a supposed wonder herbal drug called ACTIVIVE and wondered if anybody had actually tried it. Its not cheap, at around 40 pounds for a months supply, but if it works, then i'd pay 10 times that. Thanks
