Are there any small calcium pills for Osteoporosis? I went this weekend to get some calcium pills - bought caplets thought they would be small. I opened the bottle and they were big! I just can't swallow big huge pills!
Anyone know of smaller pills? I did see one bottle that said "petite".

Hi: Calcium comes in chewable and liquid form if that would help. I have the same problem, with large vitamins so I usually get the gel tab, liquid or chewable.

Good luck...:)

You could also try cutting them in half with a pill-cutter.;)

Hope something works.

I have taken the caplets and the petites. I like the petites alot better- for me they were much easier to swallow. While someone suggested using a pill cutter, I have found that the sharp edge from the cutting does not feel good to me in my throat. I just don't like it. If the pill is already somewhat small , thin to begin with - then cutting works ok for me. But if the pill is thick and large, the cutting just makes too much of a somewhat rough/sharp edge that I don't like at all.Good luck working it out.

I agree the pill size bothers me too. Any posters out there using the calcium chocolate chews and what is your opinion on the amount of calcium in them compared to the pill?

I wouldn't mind the chews - but I am worried about using the pills anyway and getting constipated - that I don't want!

I use both the chewable and the regular pills. I have a pill crusher and then add my food or add a little water to it, then drink water to wash it down. If you use the citrate calcium it doesn't make you constipated. Citracel has a chewable and it is good.
