This in only my 2nd day on Wellbutrin XL 150mg/day. So far I feel more tired, I'm hungry and eating all the time and my vision and thinking are slightly foggy. Just wondering what other people have experienced? How long does it take to kick in- to get the energy and decreased appetite? What dose are you taking and is it generic, SR or XL? Did you have weight loss that I keep hearing about? If so, how much, in what time-frame and what dose/kind of wellbutrin were you taking?

Wellbutrin XL is one of the only anti-depressants that begins to work fairly quickly in most people. Remember that drugs affect people differently. I LOVE Wellbutrin XL, but can't take more than 150mg without debilitating headaches. I have taken both the generic and brand and have not noticed any difference.

I would check with your prescribing doctor and pharmacist to make sure you are not having an interaction with another drug.

This is now day 5 on wellbutrin XL and I am feeling more awake. In fact I stayed up pretty late last night without being tired and had somewhat of a hard time getting to sleep. I have been waking up earlier than usual also. I have not had the foggy mind/blurred vision for the last few days. My mind is clearer. I still feel no effect on my appetite. No weight loss yet. I was so worried that I would have the nasty side effects everyone is talking about (it may still happen, I know). I don't feel more anxiety at all, in fact I feel a little more laid back and rational (I am taking it for social anxiety and mild underlying depression). I had a slight headache on/off the first day, but I was also coming off lexapro 10mg. I do notice that my resting heart rate is a little higher (normally in the 50's-60's and now in the mid-upper 70's). I was worried that my BP would be through the roof, as it has run high in the past, but I've checked it the last couple nights (I'm a nurse) at it was surprisingly low for me (117/78). I think the insomnia thing may be an issue soon, since I am rarely feeling tired now. I usually take melatonin, but I'm not sure if that will work now. My doc only gave me 10 ambiens a month ago (I always seem to find the docs that are very reluctant to give out any such meds- I really don't think I come off as a drug seeker- I'm a shy RN). Ambien works very well for me. Anyone know of a good psychiatrist in the Chicago area? I'm not sure if I like mine- I've only seen him twice so far...
