I have always had a bad temper. In the last few years I have lost my temper too much. Mostly at work this will happen. I finally realized to just leave. (My bosses always loved that.) The problem is that sometimes I cannot remove myself from situations. I was wondering who I should talk to about it?

Well it sounds pretty straight forward...take an anger management class...before it is court ordered....and read all you can on how to control it. good luck.

I called on some classes today. I was going to see a psychologist, but maybee I will try some classes first.

I don't know how many people this applies to but sometimes the anger issues are not a problem themselves, but a symptom of other problems. I used to be the "road rage guy". I used to be impatient and short with my wife for no apparent reason. Blow my stack and start yelling at fairly innocent provocations, and this went on for years. Not the the extent of being abusive but bad enough after some of these episodes that I was embarassed at my lack of control.
This summer I had a small meltdown due to job stress. Not an angry screaming meltdown, but rather I started having anxiety attacks. From this, I have been on meds for anxiety for about 6 weeks now. I am on fairly low dosages so it isn't like I am a plant but I don't yell at other drivers, my wife, or my dog anymore:) In fact, my wife and I laugh because she is the angry driver now.
I am not saying your problems will necessarily be solved with medications, as a non medicated solution is always the best, but there might be more to your situation than just anger. If you search anxiety disorders, personality disorders, or behavior disorders, you will find a whole bunch of identified psych conditions that list anger as a symptom, and maybe a bunch of other things in your behavior pattern. If you find that you have an identified psych issue that is bringing on the anger this gives you a straight line to the most effective ways of treating it.
Whatever is getting you going, you have taken the first big step in deciding to deal with it before it digs you a hole and admitting you need to fix it. Good luck finding your better self!
