Yesterday, I was sitting in a meeting at work and all of a sudden I felt 6 or 8 really hard and fast beats of my heart and then it returned to normal. I dont want to say that it hurt but it was weird and uncomfortable. This has happened once before, I am not sure if this is something with my heart or anxiety. About 5 years ago I had some other stuff going on and so I had my heart checked. Everything was great.....I had the thing where they do the sono of my heart and I also had the thing where they put dye in my arm and watch it in my heart. I never had this as a symptom of my anxiety before and I didnt think you got "new" symptoms. Of course since it is 4 in the morning it is really scaring me. Can anyone help shed some light on this. I am so scared that I am going to die from this. Can you die from heart palps?

I think you will be alright.Anxiety symptoms can change by the way.I have had so many different symptoms over the years due to anxiety. As far as heart palpitations I have them too. They are usually benign ..nothing to worry about eventhough they certainly can feel very scarey. You could always ask your doctor about having a holter monitor test done (basically a portable ekg) which may catch and record some of your palpitations for reveiw by a cardiologist or doctor.I was told some of the things to cut way back on or avoid to help ease heart palpitations are:

Caffiene
chocolate
overeating or undereating
lack of sleep
stress
smoking

There is probably a few more but that is all I can think of right now.

Amber, trust me, you can ALWAYS get some kind of "new" symptom with anxiety. I would bet that's what you experienced yesterday.

Shelby :)
