I started on celexa,10mgs,back in September and initially it caused abit of increased anxiety and jitteryness.Once it kicked in,it was GREAT,anxiety left and I felt good, for a few months.(no side effects,no weight gain) I started to feel blah again,so I upped the dose to 20mgs and I've got increased anxiety again! I am hoping this is from the increased dosage and that it will take it abit to kick in...anyone else experience this,is it normal, you think?
THANKS!

It's not unusual to have some anxiety when you start an anti-D or when you increase the dose. Just be sure to share what's happening with you with your doctor.

Feel better.

Just make sure to keep an eye on yourself. I was finally correctly diagnosed as bipolar when my increased zoloft threw me into a hypomanic episode. Hopefully it's just a temporary adjustment to the meds, but keep your eye on it all the same :)

I gave the 20mgs an honest shot, but my anxiety has only gotten worse.I cut it back to 10...I realise maybe the 20 wasn't enough, but it caused more anxiety than BEFORE I started the medication!I fear to go up to 40,have to see the doc in a week, will check with him.I am also going thru menopause, which only adds to the mess.I was on paxil twice which really helped so much, but both times it caused rapid weight gain for me,which affected my cholestoral and sugar.
Thanks for all the help.

When I took Celexa at the beginning my anxiety was worse for a couple of weeks. When it was time to increase I couldn;t take the entire 20mg at once. I increase to 10mg twice daily.
