My dr put me on celexa yesterday for social anxiety. I'm starting at 20mg a day. Yesterday i noticed i yawned a lot and had no appetite and when i tried to eat i felt like i was going to throw up. And then i ended my day with a migraine. I think the migraine could have been caused from not eating.
Anyway, anyone else get migraines from this? Also have you gained, lost, of stayed the same weight? I was a bit of an emotional eater, so yesterday was nice not looking for something to cram in my mouth. I'm not over weight (but i'm sure i would have been if i would have kept up with that bad habit). But i wouldnt mind losing a few extra pounds.
Today again with the yawning (i can live with that) and i had a nice breakfast before taking my pill in case i feel sick again.

hi, I have been on Celexa for about 11 days. The first week I was yawning alot, feeling tired and had insomnia. My doctor gave me Ativan for the sleep. She said it takes about 3 weeks for the side effects to lessen or go away. I hope she is right. But yes yawning was a big side effect for me. Good luck and hang in there it takes a little time but I feel a little better now myself:)
It also took away my appetite, now I find myself wanting to eat more now. Just eat 3 meals a day and some healthy snacks. Don't graze like I use to do all day.ha

Hi,
Just wondering how the Celexa is working out for you 2.
I've been on it since Thanksgiving (along with klonopin) and it's lifted my depressed feeling a lot.
I still don't like the idea of med's everyday, but I've resolved that it's finally necessary at this stage in my life.
I couldn't take Zoloft...it made me very mean. The Celexa, so far, might be a "keeper."
Hope it's working for you both.

hi singer78 the celexa is working well. I do not yawn anymore nor feel tired during the day. I have a problem with sleeping and the doctor just put me on tradazone 50 mg at night. I don't know if it will work but hope so. I used to take Klonopin at night for sleep but she would not write me a prescription for that. I think alot of doctor's do not like the Klonopin, but I sure did. Anyway the doctor told me I am young and do not need to be on a sleep medicine long term..but I say if you need something take it! I just hope the trazadone works. Also the doctor said sleep issues are psychological (in the mind).,.yea whatever but I don't believe that. Good luck and I definately thinkCelexa is a keeper:)

I'm so happy to hear that.
It's working for me, too...
I think it's a nice, mild antidepressant, compared to the other's I've taken---but, everyone's chemistry is different.
The best of luck to you.
Try a cup of chamomile tea before bedtime & nice, soft music....or a nice bath.
