Hi everyone...
I have fibromyalgia and am having problems sleeping on my sides. I have to sleep on my back the whole night, which gets uncomfortable. Does anyone have any sugestions to help me?

I sleep on my side or almost on my stomach with a pillow proping me from hip to shoulder. I use a regular pillow but some use one of those new body pillow (think that is what they are called). By using a pillow it gives some support. I have never been able to sleep on my back so that is not an options for me. Hope you find a comfortable solution.

I had severe problems with sleeping on sides, flipping from side to side and being woke up all through the night needing to flip to other side...finally having to get up about 3-4am because I couldn't stand it any longer. So, I can relate.
3 things have helped me:
1. Guaifenesin Protocol in 2 months has almost completely eliminated the severity of the pain that was waking me up. I still have some pain there, but nothing like it was. Over time it will hopefully continue to get even better.
2. Sleeping on a heating pad.
3. Getting weekly massages.

I suffer from PMR and when it first started I could not sleep on either side and had to sleep throughout the night on my back. I bought a funny little pillow that looked like 3/4 of a circle and slept on this. I have seen people use these pillows on planes, but I found that they kept me on my back without too much discomfort. I also placed down pillows on either side of me so that I could rest my arms on them......anything to get me through the night.

the answer:
LOTSA propping and having the right tools!
i cannot live w/o my long body pillow + my Tempurpedic bed. i also must always have my cervical pillow (the ones with the 'dent' in the middle) and a towel or small blanky spread around the top & sides of this pillow so i can prop my arms/hands.
