helloo. i need some advice.
i have this small dark, flat mole on my face. Because it's dark its very noticable and makes me very self concious so i'm constantly covering it with makeup which is really annoying:( but even so i feel like people can still see it so i always check in the mirror. It's a nuisance so i'v decided i'v had enough and want to get rid of it. i'v looked on the internet for hours and hours and i'm soo confused. i've heard of all the things they can do like laser treatment, remove it surgically etc but what would be best for me? and where do i go about it? should i go to my doctor? i haven't gone to the doctor yet because i feel i am wasting his time as it is more cosmetic than i health issue.
can anyone help?:(
thanks

Yes people are probably staring at it and for that I am sorry and can understand your heartache over it and where to start. You start with your regular physician or I would go to a Dermatologist and ask his opinion on removal and what it will take. You yourself don't have to figure out how it should be removed...the doctor will tell you or give you options then you can do the research. Good luck .

If it's distressing you enough to make you want to change it, it's worth at least asking your doctor about it. When you know what could be done and how difficult/unpleasant it might be, then you can decide.

Hi, I would suggest going to a plastic surgeon to have it removed if that is what you want to do. I have one also on my face, which I am getting removed soon by a plastic surgeon. Mine is raised, yet small, and my two options are: shave off or cut out. I don't know yet which I am doing. Going to a plastic surgeon, in my opinion is best because they are familar with cosmetic treatments and how best to remove things on the face. Getting something off for simply cosmetic issues is something that you will have to pay for out of pocket however.

I've had two removed from my face by a dermatologist. Both were just sliced off. No problems. Looks great.

I agree. I think removal by a Derma is more likely to be covered by your insurance. I had one removed just because it was raised up a little bit and the Derma submitted the claim as a necessary procedure so it was covered. Insurance companies are very wary about paying claims from a Plastic Surgeon's office.
