Hi all! I'm becoming a vegetarian. I used to be one, but have been eating meat for the last three years. My question is this: I have very heavy menstrual periods and have been known to become anemic. Since I'm cutting red meat out of my diet, does anybody have any advice on making sure that I get enough iron without taking supplements? I don't want to OD on it.

Dark green veggies, especially spinach.

Raisins, too! And most breads are fortified with iron.

Of course, spinach seems to have almost everything except calories, doesn't it?
