PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!

Have mild persistent asthma that only periodically rears it's ugly head. Currently have a dry cough after a cold and dr. gave me azmacort (can't take advair) and albuterol. Find that the albuterol makes me cough steady for about an hour after using. Do you think it's the new hfa's that aren't as effective? Also, feel a bit of discomfort (almost pain) in chest after the albuterol. Didn't feel this way with proventil.
