My mom has lupus, over active tyroid , diabetic and she had a ct scan done on her legs and abdoman for the swelling that she has had in her legs for some time. they found that she has enlarged lymph nodes in her groin area what does this mean? she says they arent painful or anything? could this be cancer?

Since your mom has some health issues already, it could be that the lymph nodes are swolen because they are fighting infection. That is what they are there for, to filter out the bad stuff. If they've been swolen for a while, you should have her doctor check it out, and more than likely they will refer you to a sergon. If you are concered though, i would get it checked out. Not all swolen nodes are cancer... but beter safe than sorry.
I have had one particualar one that has been swolen in my lower left abdomen area, for about a year now. Its made me a little nervous, but so far no answers from the docs, its like they are running me in cirlcles. Im hoping that means there not too concerned.
