I had plif on Sept 25th. L4 and L5 S1. At one month the Dr said I could drive, should be walking more, (with or without the walker) I didn't feel ready to drive till 5 weeks and drove once. At 6 weeks I drove more, used my walker if out of the house and began walking in the house always without the walker. At about 5 weeks I had a little increase of pain and thought it was what I'd read about here. Now I have a great amount of increased pain, have to use my walker in the house. Increased difficulty rolling over in bed or sitting. I did seem to do too much a few days before this. day before really. I was in the car sitting too long and got in and out of the car 3 or 4 different times. Thought I was superwoman I guess. Did I just do too much? Will it take a while to improve? Past few days with the pain, my blood pressure has been super high. (It's usually controlled with meds) Today it is better but not the pain. Soreness in my left side of low back and hip. Same area as after surgery. My next Dr appt is late Dec. 3 month check. I will have a cat scan then and he said after that I would start pt. I hope all this makes sense. What does everyone think? Done too much? Hurt myself? Just need to remember I am recovering from surgery maybe? Thanks for any input here.

I went through the same thing around that 6-7 weeks post-op my Dr said it may be from scar tissue forming. I am 6mos post-op and still have pain some days are better that others, I can't pin point the reason. i do know when I take my meds regularly it helps. Also on those days when you are feeling better don't over do!!! You are still very early don't expect too much too soon. rest, rest, rest.

Lisa, Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I guess I have overdone it. If it is still as bad as it is now on Monday, I will call the Dr. In the meantime, the family will resume taking care of me and the driving, etc. Happy Thanksgiving!

I agree with Lisa - it sounds like you might have overdone it. To be honest, I did not start driving until the 12 week point - very late in my recovery. Be super careful - don't bend at all and don't lift.
