View Full Version : Buzzing inside head

For the past few years I have had several episodes of a loud buzzing inside my head. I hear the buzzing from the inside of my head, not the outside. It is in the top half of my head--brain (?) deep inside. There is no actual vibration and it almost feels like an electrical current but is basically just a very loud buzz. It happens at night and will wake me up out of a sound sleep. Sometimes it happens while I am lying there and if it starts and I move my head just a bit it will stop until I move my head out of that position.

It has only happened a half dozen times and doesn't last for more than a minute or so......it is just scary as it is the first noise I have ever heard from inside my body, not through my ears!

I have had a few episodes of vertigo in the past but the two never happen at the same time.

Does anyone out there know what I'm talking about?

Hi, I have something going on with me also in the brain area. Although I'm not sure if its coming from my ears. I have been to a few different ENT doctors who said its jus tinnitus. Does your buzzing come and go? Mine is pretty much there 24/7 and it's even louder at night. I turn on the fan for some background noise.

I am being treated for Lyme disease. I had a few positive results on a blood test for Lyme. Lyme causes numerous symptoms. Not saying this is what you have. My lyme doctor thinks that I have an inflamed eighth cranial nerve, caused by the Lyme. I am suffering. Sorry I couldn't help more.
