Hiya,
This is going to sounds really silly but i cannot bring myself to eat fruit or vegetables..
Im 20 yrs old and for as long as i can remember i havent eaten them. The smell and texture of them all make me heave and when i do try them i just cannot bring myself to swallow it (sounds pathetic eh).
My friends and family just think i put it on to avoid eating them but i am desparately trying to change my diet because its only a matter of time before i start to see the effects of living off meat and junk for so long!
What would be the best way to introduce them into my diet?

Vegetables are pretty versatile and the way you prepare them can have a big impact on the texture and flavor. Try experimenting. For example, spinach is bitter and soggy when it's been cooked, but when combined dry in a salad it tastes like lettuce. Asparagus comes out of a can soggy, but when roasted from fresh with a little olive oil it has a crispy, outdoorsy texture and flavor that pairs great with a meat dish. Ever had a fresh artichoke heart (not canned) with a little butter and lemon sauce? The subtle, nutty flavor and hearty texture are a delicacy. Squash is complimented wonderfully when baked with brown sugar. Then you have your nearly tasteless veggies, like carrots, cucumbers, and celery. A little peanut butter or dip can make those interesting, or you can eat them plain. You can make homemade vegetable soup and vegetables also go into casseroles nicely.
There's a lot of variety out there with fruit, too. People usually naturally like the stuff because it's loaded with sugar in addition to nutrients. Surely there's something you like? Bananas, watermelons, berries, pears, apples, grapes, plums, peaches, oranges, canteloupe...? Again, go with fresh, not canned. Fruits also make great smoothies.
But you know what I think would really help? Cut out the fatty, salty, sugary junk food and start drinking water. Your palette's been poisoned by the stuff. Really. You don't have to go cold turkey, but wane yourself off the junk food and you'll find yourself appreciating more the healthy texture and taste of natural foods and less craving of the bad stuff. It's the same way with water. Most people that can't stand it find they begin to crave it once they've weaned themselves off bad substitutes.

Yeah laylya is right on the money with the last paragraph there.
Basically youve been over stimulating your body/mouth your whole life and now REAL food seems crappy to you.
Not even sure how I feel about that statement lol, but really its ridiculous. It is good to see though that youve realized it will cause you problems down the road (endless problems) so take laylas advice.

Hello, thank you both for taking the time to reply to my post.
Layla, i found this paragraph is particually helpful. I didnt really think that the junk i was eating would be effecting my palette and the way i repond to healthy food. Im going to ease off the junk and i think that il enjoy trying them with different dips and soups, fruit smoothies etc.
I know most of this must seem like common sense but i just needed someone to give me abit of advice and a push.
Thanks again.x
