Hi everyone I am new here so Ill introduce myself... I am a 22 yr old student in the UK. In the last year or so I have noticed my health deteriorating to such an extent where it is affecting my everyday life. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a course of action for me...
Recently I have noticed a tingling sensation in my head on the top/back/right hand side. This is a very recent development and the reason why I have decided to write here. This morning I had my worst bout of tingling while in a lecture and it lasted for around 30 secs and I felt very disoriented and could not concentrate on the lecture. This feeling disappeared about 5 mins after. I have also noticed more sharp strange pain coming from the back of my head in the last few weeks as well as a general feeling of pressure particularly on the right hand side, with an increase in head aches and tiredness. My concentration has reduced and I feel slow in general. I have also had periods of ringing in my ears accompanied with lightheadedness.
As you can imagine this is not good as Iam trying to apply for jobs at the moment and have to take aptitude tests while feeling slow and tired all the time! I write here because I dont want to go to the doctor as they are always too busy and I dont want to worry my parents.
Any advice much appreciated. :)

I do not have an answer for you, however, your head problems could be very serious and if you get treatment in the early stage could keep you from having a real major problem.
I am a parent of 5 adult children, so, speaking from experience I definitely would want my children to talk to me about a health problem. Your parents will appreciate you talking to them now rather than later when something might me too serious to correct.
Don't waste any time in talking to your parents AND seeing a doctor. You are young and have much to look forward to. This could be just a pebble in your path, take care of it now.
Your symptoms are such that posters here really cannot help you with but a doctor can. Remember, doctors are always busy taking care of sick people, step up in line and let the doctor take care of you too. If the doctor did not want to be busy all the time he/she would have chosen a different profession!
Let us know what you find out.

Could you be suffering from stress/anxiety?
You really should seek medical advice, if you dont want to bother your doctor (although thats what they get paid for), you could try phoning NHS direct on 08454647, they should be able to give you some professional advice. It may be something as simple as a sinus infection (ive recently had one and had the tingling sensation in my head) or even an ear infection can cause the ringing and disorentation symptoms.
Its always wise though to get any unusual symptoms checked out.
Good Luck,
Linds
