View Full Version : Life After Chemotherapy?

My Father was diagnosed with metatstic liver cancer in April 2007. They believe that it originated in the colon, and he also has pallups(?) in his lungs. The reason I'm posting this is, lately he's been having problems with his skin and his nerves have really been bothering him horribly. He has had 10 chemotherapy treatments, and has since stopped his treatments because they were making him awfully ill. He has since started doing something called "Essiac" which has really helped. Do any of you know anything that helps with the sensitivity of the nerves? He is unable to pick up many things, and really can't feel much. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm guessing that if he had nerve damage, he must have been on taxol as one of the chemo agents?

The nerve damage from taxol usually reverses itself to a varying degree, but it can take quite a while. I my case, it took nearly two years before it was completely gone, but some of it went away within a few months after I stopped treatment.
