onecent42 11-23-2007, 02:21 PM what is it, & what does it do?? and what does it consist of? thanks.:confused: Sponsor AM6483 11-23-2007, 03:23 PM LEEP is where the doctor will take a small wire loop that has a current running through it to easily remove a small circle of tissue on the cervix. It has two-fold benefits: 1st it removes the abnormal tissue completely and 2nd it gives the pathologists something substantial to biopsy. Some people have this procedure done in office, but mine was done under general anesthesia in the OR, which I think was much nicer. Everyone's preference and their doctor's preference are different. I would talk to your doctor, they are there for us to answer our questions. Good luck!! |
