Sponsor megcs9 11-28-2007, 06:34 PM Have you tried Intensive Therapy Hand & Body Lotion? They also have a Green Tea Bar Soap that I have heard helps with dandruf. sgregory1522 12-14-2007, 05:27 PM Dry skin is usually a sign of omega 3 deficiency. (Look up dry skin and omega 3 in a search engine if you want). it does take a month or so to see affects, but I use fish oil reguarly and with all the other benefits of improved mood, energy, concentration, ect. and low cost it can't be beat. I also have nice, supple skin. Until then, use olive oil on the dry parts. I use it on my face every night before bed and it works great. Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid that most people don't get enough, so it is important to get this even if you think it won't help with dry skin (although others can attest that it does work with dry skin). About the flax, fish oil is far more absorbable in the body than flax. Your body can only convert 5-15% of flax into EPA and DHA, hardly enough to fix this situation. Take at least 6-10 grams a day of 180EPA/120DHA. Fish oil has only omega 3's while flax has (after absorbtion) about the same amount of omega 3 and omega 6. You don't need any more omega 6, try to get the least amount as possible as the standard american diet already has far more than you could ever possibly need. AlexaIn2006 12-14-2007, 05:38 PM You also need to hydrate. Dry skin is a symptom telling you that you need more water too. sgregory1522 12-14-2007, 07:07 PM I second the water. General good health usually resolves many things. A good mutivitamin might help to as well as some exercise. Gram4 12-14-2007, 08:20 PM I have taken fish oil is that the same as omega 3? Ran out & haven't taken it in quite awhile, will get some. One thing I will say about the flaxseed my nails grow real fast & hard as a rock like fake nails. I take the milled flaxseed you can put in yogart, ceral etc, it does say 2600 mg of omega 3 oils in it. I drink alot of water. I was just very sick for a long time & also have big time stress so maybe that adds to it. kuku01 12-14-2007, 08:31 PM Hello, You might try this new organic cream for itchy dry skin.
