HI Iam asking a very important question but without alot of knowledge. My very good friend is a single mom and had a skin cancer removed and lymph nodes on left side nearly 5 years ago took radiation and chemo. Lived a perfectly normal life very active worked and all. Then 3 weeks ago her ovary busted and they found a huge mass in her pelvic area.Because the insurance would not cover her because she had not been cancer free for 5 years SHE NOW HAS NO COVERAGE AT ALL.The private hospital dealing with her ovary that night sent her to the county hospital .they did cat scans and found another big mass in neck by where the last skin cancer was taken out and her lymph nodes on that side.The doctor says he cannot do anything and wants her to go to Houston. well they also said it is in her blood and lymph nodes. She is now awaiting for medicaid to kick in so she can go to Houston to see what they can do It now has been 3 weeks and medicaid has not approved her and the people in Houston says she has to have finanical taken care of before they can make her an appointment. We dont know what to do or how to help her. We live about 3 hours away. She has very little family and we are all devastated. Please someone tell me what all this means and why they are sending her to Houston? And does this sound bad? She is only in her 30s and is a very active person .also may I add she is on no medication and says she feels fine just like nothings wrong Any advise or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.Please excuse spelling and typing I am devestated Thanks
