Am I the only person who's bone density continues to decline after a whole year on Forteo? I'm still taking it, but feel like I should be doing something else in addition to exercise, calcium and many other supplements. I don't drink sodas, don't smoke and have given up coffee and sugar. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Hi Pack92. I also lost a little after my first year on Forteo. At 18 months I had another Dexa which showed no change. I have now gone off the Forteo and am in the process of deciding what to do next. I've heard that you really have to wait 18 months for progress to show up on the Dexa, but in hindsight I wish I would have quit sooner. Do you know what you will do after getting off the Forteo? I wish you the best, and keep us posted.

Thanks for your reply. I'm seeing some holistic people in addition to my physicians. The holistics have me on a calcium/magnesium supplement and some boron and trace minerals and and other nutrients. I don't know if it will help, but it beats not trying anything!

I guess all these drugs take time. When I went on Fosamax (stopped now) my doctor told me it took 3 yrs to see what it was doing.
