My friend is pregnant, she is 6 months, she has herpes...she is currently at work, she called me and is complaining of both an outbreak and abdominal pains...I don't know what to tell her. She is concerned that if she leaves her job, she will get fired. Do you think the herpes is the cause of the abdominal pains, is that common and what should I tell her to do?

You can't get fired for leaving work in an emergency - it's against the law.

She's pregnant - when I was pregnant, if I had abdominal pains, the first thing I'd do is see my doctor NOW. This is the BABY we're talking about!! What's the priority??

Whether it's related to the herpes or not, who knows?? But anyone who's pregnant and has abdominal pain should be at the doctor NOW, and who cares about anything else??
