Hi

I have had asthma for 11 years and in the last 6 years it has been worse. I felt like I had a cold when I woke up this morning and I am having shortness of breath. I have been taking salbutamol for it afew times today. I have been admitted to hospital frequently for asthma. I cannot up what I take because I currently take so much. I am on advair 500-50, flovent 500 and spriva daily. Can anyone relate to me?
Any comments.
I find feeling short of breath scary especially at rest.

I can relate. I am also at the top end of my meds - I take 5 daily (controllers), maximum dose for each. If I stop taking them, I'm in trouble...although I still have more problems than I would like - frequent coughing/chest tightness, especially in the evening. If this continues, I may visit my lung doc again - there might be a different drug combination that would help me. Same for you. Advair can be good, but with those combination drugs, you can't tweak the individual drugs as needed...Also, have your docs checked for other factors contributing to your asthma? Acid reflux disease, for instance, or sinusitis. They can both cause asthma symptoms - and are treated with different meds.

I'm with you. I would rather feel short of breathe any other time then in the middle of the night when i actually think about my situation and hear every little wheeze. It's pretty frustrating to think about it for me and i'm not even to bad so i can only imagine how others must feel.
