okay.. I hate to admit this, but im freaking out..
I've only had sex once in my life, and that will be 2 years ago in January.
i just broke out in this rash and im scared to death... I've lookd at pictures, and it doesn't look like blisters or anything.. But im just not sure.. is it possible it would take 2 years for symptoms to appear?

Im in the same boat as you. Havent had sex for just under 3 years, the only few times I had ever had sex. just this weekend started getting nasty itches and today broke out with little bumps, looks to be a couple hundred, very small and seem to be on hair folicles.
It doesnt look like herpes but im not sure and its got me confused.
Im not so much freaked out as I am well i dont even know, discouraged I guess. If it is herpes, its not going to bother me too much. Its a very common virus and I have had the oral herpes (cold sores) since childhood. Though havent had a cold sore in ages.
Making an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, I suggest you do the same, dont wait, testing is done best while the rash, bumps, blisters are still there. A blood test will tell you if youve had it for over 3 months, but it wont tell you if its oral or genital, if you had coldsores as a child your blood would test positive.
Im still waiting for a response on my thread too.
BTW those pictures on the net are mainly extreme cases and some are just nasty, Most people dont develop outbreaks to the extent of many of those shown on the net. So dont scare yourself looking at them.

mine seem to be the same.. kinda looks like they are at the hair folicles as well.. and Im just super upset... I dont know what to think or what to do, i know i need to go to the doctor, but this has me all emotional.. what gets me is that we used protection and it only lasted like 15 minutes before i made him stop.. I know it only takes skin on skin contact.. but I'm trying to think positive about it, and hope it maybe just a yeast infection? or a allergic reaction to maxi pads.. i dont have any 'bumps' inside, just outside areas where the maxi pad lies mostly.. so I just dont know..
even though herpes isn't a death sentence.. it has me very worked up, because i'm only 22 and i made a huge mistake in even having sex with that guy in the first place. and if i do have herpes I dont know how i'll cope..

Yeah I can understand how you feel im only 19, and the thought of getting it so early on is unnerving. When I first saw the bumps it litteraly felt like my heart sank in my chest. But even if it ends up being herpes I dont think it will bother me too much, sure Ill feel upset at first, probably go through a slight denile, but in the long run there isnt much you can do. I was worrying about mine drasticaly this morning, but I just thought to myself "well if its herpes its herpes, once Ive got it, theres nothing I can do so theres no stessing about it, not the end of the world" just that thought alone made me relax quite a bit.
Try not to think about it, mabe try getting some sleep, you might feel better in the morning. If your iching, try a warm bath in epsom salts, It soothed mine a bit. And call the doctor as soon as you get a chance.
I hope for your sake its nothing to worry about.

Both of you need to get to a doctor and get properly diagnosed. There is no point in freaking out about a virus you may not even have. Hanolith, you mentioned you are going today, that's great. Make sure you ask for a type specific test. I had trouble with this (in Canada) - I don't think we have HerpesSelect like they use in the states. Push for it.
Lola - go to a doctor. You don't even know if you have the virus. You are getting "all emotional" and who knows?? Maybe it's not herpes at all!
