I'm positng this on both boards as a warning!
A few years ago my doctor put me on Advair for my asthma I started at a high dose and when down to the lowest as maintenance. Last year I saw an ad from Advair that stated you shouldn't be on it for prolonged period of time unless no other meds will work. I mentioned this to the PA (cause I NEVER see the doc) who said he and the doc never heard of that. Its safe. After being diagnosed with osteopena I read costersteroids contribute to osteo, Mentioned this to PA who said ?????. I asked to be put on different meds. They unfortunately dont work as well...Yesterday on TV I saw Advair ad that stated it can contribute to osteoporosis. OH WELL........too bad its the greatest for asthma...Think I'll see an allergist..........

Have you tried Asmanex? That's a newer steroid that comes "solo" - doesn't have the bronchodialtor that Advair has. Easier to adjust the medications separately.

Actually you should see a pulmonologist for asthma...unless, of course, you also have allergies which you didn't mention.
