What kind of practitioner is best suited for dealing and being up to date on herpes and preventative measures?

Best thing i ever did was visit a Sexual Health Clinic.

My gp took one look, said it wasnt herpes and that it was a heat rash and told me to forget about it. Went to a Sexual Health Clinic and they took a swab, sent it for a culture and it came back positive for type 2. They also offred info and advice as well as a counselling service if required. Depends which country you are in, they may go by different names where you are located.
