That's what Herpres does - with or without medication. It is a permanent virus - you never get rid of it. Even when you don't show symptoms, the virus is active in your nerve cells - dormant, so to speak. You can still spreak the virus to others when the virus is dormant.

Depends on the person. Some people have outbreaks that last less than a day. Others have them go on for months. I think average is about a week or so though.
