Hi All,
I have all the usual FM stuff but my latest symptom is a dry mouth.
Feels as if I dont have enough saliva to swallow and then this prompts anxiety!
I have nodules on my thyroid also, so I'm wondering if this dry mouth is from that or FM. Anyone any advice?
By the way, I'm not on any medication except protium for gastritis, and that's only 3 tablets per week.
Thanks,
Hopeful

I also have the dry mouth. Drinking plenty of fluids still doesn't take care of the dry mouth. I use the biotene oral balance moisturizer liquid. It's great, it works. Also at night i use the toothpaste for dry mouth, instant relief. Both are sold in toothpaste, mouthwash isle at any store. Bacteria can set in if mouth is lacking saliva. My dentist explained all this to me and by gosh this works for me. Hope this helps.

Hi hopeful! Have you been checked for Sjogrens? Some FMS patients can suffer from this condition. Are your eyes dry as well - especially at night?

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your replies, mouth not quite as dry since I changed toothpaste.
Yeah, kirstee my eyes would sometimes feel dry. I have such sinus type headache and pressure lately with bad lightedheadedness and my anxiety is gone through the roof! Does this sound like anyone else? Had the flu shot about 5 weeks ago and all this sinus stuff seems to have started since then!
Hopeful.

Hi Hopeful:
I've heard those flu shots are not supposed to give symptoms, but who knows if that notion applies to FMS patients. Has the doctor looked at the sinus problem? This issue may be something totally different than FMS and should be addressed, if you have not done so already. The anxiety can be helped by eliminating refined carbs, sugar, caffeine from your diet (basically eating low carb and healthy - how boring).
Blessings,

You CANNOT get the flu from a flu shot. The virus in the shot is completely and totally dead. If you come down with the flu after getting the shot, it means you were infected with the virus before you got the shot. Influenza does NOT cause sinus problems, does not cause nasal drainage of any kind, so your sinus symptoms are not related to the flu shot. That is the single biggest myth surrounding flu shots.
Flu shots don't cause any specific symptoms in anyone, unless they're allergic to eggs. In which case they shouldn't be getting a flu shot to begin with. Injection site soreness yes, symptoms no. Doesn't matter if you have FM or RA, you won't have flu symptoms from getting the shot.
