my wife and I lost our son in the Navy in march of 2006 a tragic loss to us and my wife was put on Zoloft and has been on it for a year and a half recently the last two months she has become very selfesh and numb to anyone elses feelings or emotions this is totally out of character for her and was wondering if this could be related to the meds?

Hi:

Right off the bat I am truely sorry for your lost.

The med question - has there been a recent change in dosage? If she has been on the same med for that period of time without a dosage change it could be that her body is use to the effect and the med starts to lose its effectiveness. I have no experience with this med but have found this true with others in the past. If there was a dosage change recently it may have to do with that and as a med increases sometimes so do the side effects.

take care
