Last night I saw my sons body start to shake while he was asleep on the couch. All his limbs and body were shaking. It caused him to fall off the couch and he of course started crying. I picked him up and put him back on the couch where he continued to twitch then fell back to sleep. His dad has seizures but they look different. He tenses up and will fall on the floor and while he shakes it is in a contored way that looks painful and then he comes to a little and will finish off by falling asleep and snoring. My son did not move in that way so I am confused if it was a seizure or not because his limbs did not twitch in unisome they were all twitching in different ways. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks =)

Lisa, this sounds to me like he might of had a seizure, because his limbs were shaking, the child didnt noticed until he felt on the floor and began to cry, and falling asleep right after a spell is very common. Did u take him to the doctor yet. You should make an appoinment w the neurologist for him, explain in details what occured and have the dr do some studies on him. Epilepsy is not always hereditary, but it happens and u should cross out any doubts u might have now before its too late. Did u notice any changes in his behavior during the day? Did he have fever? these are just some signs that he might have if in fact he had a spell, u should keep in eye on him meanwhile u see the neurologist. Best of luck

Or has he seen his daddy have seizures, and imitated him? Not in any deliberate attention seeking way, but kids that young imitate what they see. His crying when he fell, to me, says he was aware of what was going on...also the non-synchronized movements are questionable..... need to have a doc check him out....
