Hi John... Good luck with your vertebroplasty!!! I've never had that procedure but others here have had kypho...so maybe they can help you more. Do you know what type of fracture you have and at what level (thoracic etc)? Most people get pain relief immediately, and some have to wait longer so I hope you are the first type.
Follow your drs instructions on the limitations afterwards, all spine procedures are delicate and need time to calm down.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi John,
Just went through a Kyphoplasty which seems to be the preferred method of treatment. Did the dr tell you why he wants to do the vertebroplasty rather than the Kypho?
Supposedly the risk of cement leakage with the Kypho is more minimized and therefore less risky than the Vertebroplasty.
Maybe get a second opinion just in case?
Hope whatever you decide that it works out well for you and you're out of pain.

Sorry-this is my first attempt to post a message. I have a friend who is going to have Kypho and would love to chat with someone who has walked that road.
She posted a Thread under Kyphoplasty.

Hi,
How was your procedure. Did you have a fx in the vertebral body or processes.
