I finally got my first beta result...it's 98. I really don't know what that means, but I guess it's good. I went for my second one today and should have the results tomorrow. I was getting very angry because no one could tell me where my blood was, and the nurse was also trying to find it and she told me it was ridiculous that it would take this long!! Well, it ended up that they had my name spelled Christy and that's why no one knew anything!! Isn't that ridiculous!! Anyway, so all is well so far and just waiting for today's number, and then will probably go again on Friday.

By the way, I had the WORST morning sickness ever today, but now I'm feeling better than I have all week! I really had to drag myself (and Jackson too) to the doctor today.

Thanks everyone, I'm hoping for at least a 200!

Princess - I'm still pretty sick, mostly in the morning, and doing a little better in the afternoon. Smells are really bad and make me want to throw up, and they don't even have to be strong. Jackson doesn't really care much anymore, although he does kiss my tummy once in awhile. DH is pretty excited, especially with trying to come up with a way to tell his family at Christmas. I think he feels pretty "manly" now knowing that he has some good strong swimmers after the difficult time we had with BDing. My mom is very excited and we whisper about it at work since I didn't tell anybody else yet. We have our work Christmas party on Saturday with lots of free drinks, so I am sure someone will figure it out when I'm not drinking, and the whole office will know in no time at all!

First, we were thinking of wrapping up the u/s picture to give to his mom as a xmas gift, but right now the top choice is getting Jackson a shirt that says "I'm the Big Brother". We'll have him wear it there and just see how long it takes people to read it and realize what it means!! Any other suggestions for me???

I love the shirt idea!! I think that's really sweet! The u/s picture idea is a really good idea too, but I am very drawn to the "I'm a big brother" idea! :D If you're stuck on what to give, you coudl give them presenst from Jackson and the baby....liek a pendant for DH's mom that says "Nana" or something. But I really do liek the idea with jackson wearing that shirt. I think it's really sweet!! Give him a big hug for all of us-- he is being such a good big brother already!!

The nurse just called me & said that they don't have results yet, but should have them tomorrow. She told me to go ahead and have another beta done tomorrow. This stupid insurance I have makes me use a different lab for bloodwork and it takes FOREVER!!!! The good news is that when I use this lab, the insurance pays the whole thing and there is no cost to me. I'll let you all know tomorrow.

Yeah, my insurance doesn't cover any IF, so luckily they're going to be covering the betas. I might as well have them pay for something, right??

I know that insurance makes things so much more difficult. I have always had my b/w read right away, but a couple days ago, it started getting sent out for resutls b/c of insurance, so I had to wait. It's frustrating, but you're right -- it was paid for. Your numbers are going up, which is great, so try not to stress. We're all excited and waiting to hear how things are going!

Hi Cristy--- Oh the insurance. My insurance is like Kari's from the sound of it-- mine only pays for betas as well. Everything else is out of pocket. As if IF is really in teh same league as cosmetic surgery...but here is not the time ;) :D

Ins is so frustering. 2 weeks ago DH had another SA and the Dr wanted it to be done as a test wash, but the ins co wouldnt pay for the test wash UNTIL he had a SA first. SO he had to have a SA, then go back a week later for another SA with test wash. To me, thats a waste of money!!!!

Its so strange on the blood work, DH and I were just talking about that. Our dog had a bunch of bw done on Tues at 10am, by 2pm we had all the results back. I had bw done on the 12th and as of Tues it was ot all back yet. R U kidding me????

Anyway..I'll keep checking back, but so you know I am thinking of you:)

Okay guys, I'm not going to have Wednesday's beta results until Monday!! Apparently, the clinic I went to for the draw screwed up on the order because the lab couldn't read it when they got it. So now the results won't be in until tomorrow and my RE won't get them until Monday!! Like it wasn't bad enough waiting 48 hours for the first one!! I'm feeling fine because I know those numbers are going up, up, up!! I just feel sorry for the poor nurse that has to deal with my stupid lab, but at least she knows what she's doing:) She told me to go ahead and have another one done on Monday just because they don't know what's going on yet. I'll let everyone know on Monday.
