I'm scared, but I want to get pregnant and start a family very soon. I'm 31 and my husband is 30.
I was wondering if anyone else has had fibro before they ever got pregnant..how the pregnancy went and any other advice you could give or stories you could share.

Thanks,
Stacie

Hi stac, I got pregnant while I had fibro and for me it was a blessing! I had alot less pain. I was very tired right from the start and did have to stop working due to the fatigue and stress ( I had a really nasty boss though) BUT the reprieve from the pain was great! At least a 50% decrease. However, after my son was born it came back with a vengeance. Not saying this to scare you, you can try to avoid it by taking it easy, planning in advance for help. The getting up every couple of hours at night, and suddenly carrying an infant around plus all the other stuff your not used to puts a strain on you.
I was stubborn and wanted to do it all! and I suffered for it. You can do things differently and accept some help if you have it available.
My son though was worth all of it. So I say go for it, there is nothing in the world like being a mother.

I'm scared that I won't be able to continue working during pregnancy.. I guess that is what long term disability insurance is for...

Yes, sorry I forgot to mention that! My doctor did take me out of work and I got disability from the time I was 4 months pregnant until 6 weeks postpartum. The only thing my doctor had to say was that it was a high risk pregnancy. He didn't even have to get into specifics. He decided this one day at one of my visits and I was suppose to work that day-he made it effective immediatley! called my employer and I never went back!
