View Full Version : Anemic and searching for source of blood loss-Lymphoma?

I have recently been dx'ed with anemia. My hematacrit and H'globins were low and I have an elevated Sed rate and elevated CRP.

I am having a colonoscopy Friday and perhaps an endoscopy as well.

My understanding is that if they cannot find the source of the blood loss with these tests, the next step is to check the marow to see if the problem is not blood loss but is actually a problem producing blood.

Symptoms include chills, fatigue, loss of appetite, itching

Problem is that these things can indicate leukemia, lymphoma or less dangerous problems like arthritis, which I do have.

If they have to look at the marrow, will I have a better idea about leukemia or lymphoma?

Thanks
Alan

If its more then I think 30% in the marrow (if I recall that the doctor said correctly) then you're looking at leukemia..otherwise they classify it as a lymphoma.

But don't jump to any conclusions before the test..worrying isnt going to help!

Hope everything turns out well!
