I got diognosed with TMJ in August of this year... i have had the splint (one day time and one at night) in now for nearly 3 months. Lately, i have been getting pain behind my right eye again like a nerve is being pinched. I am really really scared that the tmj pain is going to come back again. Can you help to understand what is going on please??

Sorry to hear about your fears; hope my experience throws some light.
I got diagnosed with TMD and the worst part was the pain around my left eye, like you say as if a nerve is being pinched. The dentist says its the lateral pterygoid muscle which is still is spasm causing referred pain up to the eye.
I'm wearing a splint now for three months and the eye pain seems to be reducing in intensity and going in waves but my other jaw muscles are still achey.
What I've learned is that the jaw muscles are exquisitely sensitive to any unbalance in the way the teeth contact. I go for my splint adjustments and he gets all the dots even and I leave feeling wow what a relief.
Hang in there.

Hey... thanks for your reply. Yeah i think actually mine is also from when i get sinus too because that gets inflamed and then pushes on the nerve. I went for acurpunture today and thats what he thought.
Have you been emotional since you were diagnosed and crying at the drop of a hat... not urself and things like that? Cranky easy?

What do you mean about getting all the dots even when you go for your splints check up???

My emotiones up and down. The dots for when you get your splint adjusted is that's how the dentist checks to make sure it fits right and your teeth touch. It's called articularing paper
