Hello,
My child is two years old and has a bad dog allergy (he'll break out into hives, his eyes will swell, etc.). He also has asthma, but so far I haven't seen a connection between the two, his asthma attacks were from running, or being sick and his other allergies. We are looking for a new place to rent and we found a great house, but the owner on the property (it's 5 acres) lets their dog run around the whole property. We love the house but are a little nervous about the dog. We would basically have to shoo the dog away if it came near us and change our clothes, wash up if it rubbed up against us. But, what about dragging dander into the home. I'm not as worried about that because we could take our shoes off, etc. But I'm not sure we can totally stay away from the dog and keep the dander out of the house completely. Would we be getting ourselves into trouble by moving there?? Do any of you have dog allergies that might bring on your asthma?? I would hate to move there and have to trap my child indoors! I'm looking for opinions to help us make our final decision. Thanks so much!!!

I would wait till you know all his allergies. Being on that much land with vegetation may be worse for him than the dog! If he's allergic to grass, trees, etc, living there would not be a good thing.
